Uttar Pradesh is one of India's largest and most populous states, located in the northern part of the country. It is bordered by Nepal to the north, Uttarakhand to the northwest, Haryana and Delhi to the west, Rajasthan to the southwest, Madhya Pradesh to the south, Chhattisgarh to the southeast, and Bihar to the east.

Numerous rivers, including the Ganges, Yamuna, and Ghaghara, also crisscross the state.
Considered the birthplace of Lord Krishna, Mathura is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus and is known for its ancient temples and religious sites.
A protected wildlife reserve located in the Terai region of Uttar Pradesh, Dudhwa National Park is known for its rare and endangered species of animals.
