Eglise de Notre Dame des Anges

Eglise de Notre Dame des Anges is the oldest Church in the territory of Pondicherry. It is known as The Church Of Our Lady Of Angels, and it's one of the best attractions of the Union Territory in Pondicherry. This Church was built in 1856 by French Missionaries in the Greek roman Architectural style, and the design  Église de Notre Dame des Anges is on Dumas Street and Surcoof Street.

This Church is a famous attraction and is most visited by locals, tourists, and other visiting Pondicherry visitors. Eglise de Notre Dame des Anges has marvellous architecture, is the oldest, and has many meaningful things architected on the walls. It was constructed by engineer Louis Guerre who was a Greco-roman architect.

The angel's Church gives the divine angelic feel, and this Church also has elegant unique shades made with the help of a mixture of light stones, limestones, and white eggs. There are various beautiful paintings and excellent portrayals from different religions. The texture and structure of this Church are similar to South France, and it's quite inspiring.

While entering the Church, one will see Mother Mary holding young Jesus in her arms. Many statues like Joan of Arc, and many other saints, have different personalities, eight-barrel vaults, and even round openings. And a Central dome pierced in the Eglise De Notre Dame Des Anges. It is the only main Church in Pondicherry where every Sunday, Mass is celebrated in the three main languages, English, France, and Tamil.

Our Lady Of Angels stands out by virtue, and it's more prominent by its two square Bell Towers on the front facade and at the polygonal dome above the crossing. It has the Latin cross plan. One reaches the Church with two symmetrical staircases and a dozen stairs each.

The tower of the Church has two levels and is crowned by a rooftop terrace with stone handles and rectangular balusters. The Church's interior is Luminous and is presented as a contrast between the brightness of the place where there is movement and the nave's relative dimness. Grand Marian Procession is the Annual event Organised and celebrated in the Church.
