Darrah Wildlife Sanctuary is located in the state of Rajasthan, India. It is a protected area of approximately 250 square kilometres in the Alwar district of Rajasthan. The sanctuary was established in 1955 and was declared a protected area in 1981.
Rugged hills, steep slopes, and rocky outcrops characterize the landscape of the Darrah Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to various wildlife species, including leopard, sambar, chital, wild boar, hyena, jackal, jungle cat, and Indian hare. The vegetation in the sanctuary is the mostly dry deciduous forest with a mix of flora such as dhok, khair, tendu, and bamboo. There are also grasslands and small water bodies that provide a source of water for the wildlife in the sanctuary.
Tourists can explore the sanctuary through guided jeep safaris or nature walks. The best time to visit the Darrah Wildlife Sanctuary is from October to March when the weather is pleasant, and wildlife sightings are more frequent. The sanctuary is closed during the monsoon season from July to September.
