Vedavyas temple is a Hindu temple in Odisha, India, dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located at the confluence of the Mahanadi and Brahmani rivers, near Boudh.
The temple is believed to have been built by Vedavyas, a sage believed to have composed the four Vedas. It is believed that on his journey to the Himalayas, Vedavyas had meditated near this spot; hence, the temple was constructed here in his honour.
The temple is believed to have been built in the 8th century CE and is a popular pilgrimage site for Hindus.
The temple complex also contains a Ganesha temple, a Shiva temple, a Vishnu temple and a temple dedicated to the goddess Durga.
The main temple is made of sandstone and is two-storied, with intricate carvings and sculptures on the walls. The temple has a huge tank adjacent to it, which is believed to have been built by Vedavyas himself.
