Hal Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum
The HAL Heritage Centre and Aerospace Museum is located in Bangalore, Karnataka. The museum was established in 2001 and is dedicated to showcasing the rich history of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), a leading aerospace company in India.
The museum is spread over 4 acres and has four main galleries. The first gallery displays a range of historical aircraft models, including the Marut, Kiran, and Jaguar fighter planes. The second gallery is dedicated to the history of HAL and displays various engines, aircraft parts, and models.
The third gallery is known as the "Aerospace Gallery" and showcases India's achievements in aerospace technology. It features models of the Indian space launch vehicles and satellites, including the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV).
The fourth and final gallery is the "Hall of Fame," which showcases the achievements of Indian pilots and astronauts. It has photographs and memorabilia related to India's space program, including the spacesuit worn by Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian astronaut to travel to space.
The museum also has an outdoor section that displays various aircraft and helicopters, including the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas and the Dhruv helicopter.
