Shri Hanuman Mandir Jakhoo
Shri Hanuman Mandir Jakhoo is a prominent Hindu temple in Shimla in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman, the monkey god and one of the most revered deities in Hindu mythology. It is situated at about 2,455 meters (8,000 feet) above sea level on Jakhoo Hill, the highest point in Shimla.

According to legend, Lord Hanuman stopped at Jakhoo Hill while searching for the magical herb Sanjeevani, which could revive his friend Lord Lakshmana who had been injured in battle. It is believed that Lord Hanuman rested on the hill and left his footprints on a rock, which can still be seen near the temple.
The current temple structure is said to have been built in the late 19th century by a saint named Baba Neeb Karori Ji Maharaj, who was a devotee of Lord Hanuman. The temple is constructed in the traditional style of architecture with a pagoda-like structure and intricate carvings and paintings on the walls.
One of the main attractions of the temple is the enormous statue of Lord Hanuman, which stands tall at about 108 feet. The figure is made of concrete and iron and is painted in a bright orange colour. It is said to be one of the tallest statues of Lord Hanuman in the world.
Visitors have to climb a steep hill through a forested area to reach the temple, which takes about 30 minutes. However, for those unable to climb the hill, there is also an option of taking a cable car ride that offers stunning views of the surrounding hills and valleys.
