Aguada Fort is regarded as one of the top tourist attractions in Goa. This fort was built in 1612 by the Portuguese as a defensive measure against the Maratha and Dutch armies. It stands proudly on Goa's Sinquerim Beach and houses a lighthouse. This four-tiered lighthouse was once thought to be Asia's oldest lighthouse.
