The zoo is based on the theme of Hindu mythology. Apart from factual information about the animals/birds/reptiles, there is additional information about their role in mythology. As far as I know, this is the only zoo based on such a theme. Within the zoo, efforts have been made to replicate the normal environment for the animals by preserving the natural surroundings. You can see a variety of birds in the open too.
