Betul Beach In Goa
Betul beach is located to the south of the Mobor beach, just across the Sal river. From Margao city, it is located at a distance of 24 km. One can reach Betul Beach, from Mobor either by taking the ferry at Assolna or taking a boat from Mobor to reach to Betul. From Margao, one can take the road towards Cabo de Rama.
Betul Beach is small but beautiful, it has a rivulet and small lagoon that flows to the sea. Most of the time the beach is deserted except for the occasional visitor. There are no major hotels in the area nor beach shacks, but accommodation is easy to find with the locals renting their houses. Betul Beach is one of the most scenic beaches in Goa, located south of Mobor beach. This beautiful beach rests right at the delta of Sal River, giving passers-by a gorgeous view of the serene sea. The beach itself has soft silvery sand, fringed by looming fruit trees and swaying palms to provide visitors with some shade as they enjoy this seaside delight.
The foothills of the Western Ghats form the backdrop of the beach, offering a 360-degree natural panorama. At Betul Beach, there is a small lagoon also exists. A walk to the Betul lighthouse along the fascinating coastline is sure to inspire a new sense of admiration for this natural beauty. The village of Betul is small but friendly and very hospitable. It is easy to find directions in this area or friendly locals at the restaurants in the area. One can also see the majestic Betul fort from this location, located on a hill that overlooks the Southern coast. By the beach, one can find many fishing boats and ocean trawlers as Betul is a fishing village.
Being more peaceful and a slightly offbeat beach, one will not see beach shacks as is prevalent across Goa. However, the seafood at Betul is quite amazing, with some of Goa’s finest and largest mussels being found here. Betul Beach in Goa is one of the most important fishing ports where all the deep-sea trawlers and mechanized boats bring in their catch. Here headlands from the slopes of the Western Ghats protrude into the shore giving it an imposing backdrop. Except this secluded and wonderful beach is the hill of Cabo De Rama where the Portuguese have built a fort. From that fort, you can get a great view of the sunset on the beach.

Betul Beach can be reached by bus from Margao. The frequency of buses though is low. You can also take private transport like auto-rickshaws, cabs are also available from Margao.
