History of Anjuna Beach
Anjuna Beach is still popular with the younger generation and in the sixties, it has been the haunt of the flower generation. It gained popularity for the Hippies and its Trance Parties who tried to synthesize the spiritual traditions of the East and the art, ideas and the music of the West. Sometime during the period between the late 1950s to mid-1960s, the area was “discovered” by a group of travelers, it includes “Eight Finger Eddie,” and to meet there to party during the dry season, a small international psychedelic scene began. Anjuna Beach was found sometime back in the time of 1960s by the group of travelers who used to party at this point during the dry season.
